What’s New in Hootsuite

We’ve added a few cool new features to Hootsuite Ads:

• You can now Import Google Shopping campaigns to see performance data and spending metrics in the dashboard and get a holistic view of your Google Ads account.
• When creating new campaigns in Hootsuite Ads, you can now use existing ads or posts.

If an issue will prevent your post from going out because of social network limitations, you’ll now see an actionable error message before posting.

We’ve redesigned the help menu in the left-hand navigation bar and added a brand-new in-product help feature with recent announcements, suggested articles, and self-serve resources to help you find the information you need right from the dashboard.

A new dropdown view for your Hootsuite Analytics reports makes it easy to quickly see which data sources and filters have been applied to a report.

To make it a little easier to keep your Instagram posts flowing, we’ve revamped the error messages and guidance that appear when you need to reconnect your Instagram Business profile in Hootsuite.

Resolved an issue where some users were unable to select a location when targeting a LinkedIn post.

Resolved an issue where custom link preview thumbnails were incorrectly displaying for Facebook in the Planner when using a non-verified domain.

• A website URL is no longer mandatory when creating video view campaigns. Viewers can just watch and enjoy the video on Facebook.
• New “2-second video view”, and “thru play” optimization goals are now available.

Resolved an issue with the “Add Stream” window where some users were seeing the window close right after opening it.

Resolved an issue where users were unable to scroll through their Hootsuite streams in Safari.

In post performance you can add a new metric indicating if the post is hot (popular) with your audience. The “hot post” metric makes it easy to spot posts that would be best to put some boosting spend behind.

Resolved an issue where some users were reporting a discrepancy between reactions and comments natively on LinkedIn.com vs. in Hootsuite Analytics.

You can now add multiple values under a single parameter when tracking URLs in Adobe Analytics. This provides more flexibility and control when building presets parameters.

Resolved an issue where some users were seeing unexpected delays when scheduling messages for Instagram.

Resolved an issue where images intermittently failed to load in link previews when creating a post for Amplify.

Motivating your employee advocates to share content can be an ongoing challenge. This new video that explains the personal benefits in relatable terms to encourage adoption of Amplify.

Hootsuite Analytics customers can now highlight their top published posts in reports.

Interaction History provides a shared memory of past conversations across your team, helping you respond with more context and deliver a more personalized experience. Click a user’s name in Inbox to open the user profile in the context panel, where you can see all private and public Facebook and Twitter conversations with that customer from the last six months.

Mobile Inbox Approvals & Redesigned Publisher Views Description: Now within inbox on you can approve replies sent to you for approval, see the name of who replied to a specific message, and view approval status right on your phone.

You can now select a special ad category in the first step of Facebook campaign creation. When a special ad category is selected, audience targeting options are limited to help protect Facebook users from unlawful discrimination.

Now you can report on up to 100 posts in Amplify Analytics—or export up to 1000 posts for more in-depth reporting.

Fixed an issue where users selecting “Open Media Library” in Composer resulted in the error “Unable to find media sources”.

Fixed an intermittent issue where the Hootsuite mobile app for iOS would crash when a user attempted to resize an image.

In Planner, you can now set the week to start either on Monday or Sunday.

Fixed an issue where comments failed to appear after pressing “View Comments” on a post in a Facebook stream.

You can now download an image from Amplify Desktop by right clicking and selecting “Save As”.

We’ve made a number of improvements to make it easier to connect your Instagram accounts. While connecting, you’ll now see tips for connecting different Instagram account types, plus links to help articles during each step of the connection workflow.

Social accounts that need to be reconnected will now show in analytics reporting with a prompt to reconnect them to avoid gaps in data.

Metrics for personal LinkedIn Pages are now available in Hootsuite Analytics.

Fixed an issue where when using a resolution of 1200x800 or lower, users were not able to see the Edit/Delete button for scheduled content.

Fixed an issue where the ‘Drafts’ section of the content planner was continually loading for some users.

We’ve updated our Introduction to Hootsuite Analytics video to reflect changes in the Overview feature.  

We’ve updated the Social Selling Dashboard with links to articles and resources to help new users get started and discover key features.

 Fixed an issue where Amplify push notifications were not being sent to iOS devices.

 Fixed an issue where manually typing a URL in Composer prevented the link from correctly shortening.

 Fixed an issue where Composer was experiencing some performance issues (slowness when entering text).

We’ve revised this popular video to reflect recent changes in the dashboard. 

Social Selling customers with Amplify can elevate their sales team with a new dashboard that allows them to engage with prospects and clients, create their own content, and measure their performance. 

 If you use Google Ads, you can now do the following within Hootsuite:

• Add a new Dynamic Search or Standard Ad Group to a campaign
• Add new keywords to a Standard Ad Group
• Add a new Search Ad and Call-Only Ad to a Standard Ad Group
• Add a new Dynamic Search Ad to a Dynamic Search Ad Group (after configuring DSA parameters in campaign settings)

 Fixed an issue where selecting a Twitter post in Browse Content redirected to an incorrect URL.

We’re excited to bring back Twitter engagement metrics such as impressions, video views, retweets, and replies. You can now start building more meaningful reports with post-level and account-level data.

Fixed an issue where some users were unable to share Amplify posts to Instagram on iOS 13

Fixed an issue where users received an error message when uploading videos.

The social network picker within compose has been improved to make it easier to select and connect networks. Error messages have been improved to include actionable feedback to how you can fix the post.

Hootsuite Academy’s flagship Social Marketing course has been updated and streamlined for 2019.  We’ve added 20 new videos, on topics including social ads, instagram stories, social video, IGTV, Google My Business, and Facebook Live.  We’ve also optimized UX, reducing the time it takes to complete the course.

Fixed an issue where users were unable to publish .GIFs larger than 3MB to Twitter

Fixed an issue where some users were missing Facebook Reach data in May, June, and July.

Fixed an issue where Ad text was missing in the mobile feed preview.

Facebook confirmed that some Instagram accounts were blocked in error, including those from our users. They’ve since fixed the issue and have apologized for the confusion this may have caused. We appreciate your patience during this time as we worked closely with Instagram to get this matter resolved.

We’ve replaced the legacy Analytics overview  with new and improved Overview Reports.

We’ve made the following improvements in Hootsuite Ads to help you manage your Google Ads:

• Edit bid strategies: Edit the bid strategy of your campaigns and override campaign settings by selecting specific parameters at the ad group level.

• Edit all supported campaign settings: You can now edit by network, language, location, and URL options.

• Target audiences you’ve created: Select audiences you’ve created in Google Audience Manager.

• Use location extensions: Advertise locally by promoting physical stores registered in Google My Business.

• Create app extensions: You can now create app extensions for your ads

Now you can promote your best performing LinkedIn Page posts as Sponsored Content ads directly from the Publisher or Streams dashboard and precisely target new LinkedIn members based on their location, interests, or details related to their profession.

• Resolved an issue where Twitter Keyword search streams in the Hootsuite Mobile app were not showing the same results as the desktop version.

• Resolved an issue where the Content Library did not display for all users in the Hootsuite mobile app.

• Fixed an issue where the font was displaying as larger than expected in the Hootsuite Mobile app for iOS.

We’ve fixed the following platform issues: 

• Fixed an issue where some assigned Inbox messages could not be resolved.

• Fixed an issue where the billing page would not correctly load for some users.

We’ve improved the experience for imported campaigns by showing the targeting and bidding settings in the campaign dashboard. Plus, we’ve added almost all the calls to action supported natively by Facebook .

• Fixed an issue where custom link preview images were dropping or delayed for some users when publishing to LinkedIn.

• Fixed an issue where using the “Post and Reuse Networks” option was giving an error message for some users when publishing.

• Fixed an issue where some Facebook pages with names containing 2 or more spaces did not appear as mention suggestions in Composer.

 In Inbox, you’ll now see images (and image URLs) included in conversations as they come in, as well as images that were sent in the last 6 weeks. GIFs will appear as a playable video.

We have fixed bugs in image preview with Amplify articles. Now preview articles users must click on the link, we have removed the preview feature some articles had within Amplify to ensure reliability.

We have added these new features to Hootsuite Ads:

Ad Set Budgets During Campaign Creation 

• You can now control how much each ad set will spend by setting a specific budget for each ad set rather than being limited to only being able to set a limit for campaign as a whole.

Optimize for Value

• If the user's Facebook ad account is eligible for "optimize for value", the user can select to optimize for "Value" during the campaign creation. This will allow you to track the ‘purchase’ conversion in Facebook pixel. 

Instagram Stories Placement List

• You can now publish ads as Instagram Stories along with other placements.

Users can select and send emojis in Inbox through the emoji pickers 🤩🙌🎉.

 We’ve made it easier for Amplify Content Admins to delete topics in one set of actions (without having to manually unsubscribe users or delete content assigned to the topic). Now, you can just click the Delete Topic button in Topic Management and let us take care of the rest.

When using Inbox on your mobile device, you can now filter by private vs. public messages, social network, and oldest vs. newest.

Fixed an issue where the Facebook Page Unpublished stream showed an incorrect API error message.

Fixed an issue where some LinkedIn page comments were not appearing in Inbox.
