What has been refreshed and when?
In May 2018 we refreshed our Terms of Service as well as our Privacy Notice for all users. We have also included all of these documents in one easy to find Legal Centre.
Why have the Terms of Service and Privacy Notice been refreshed?
We have updated our Terms of Service to make them clearer, easier to understand, and more simple. We have simplified the terms to adapt to our customer’s evolving needs.
Our Privacy Notice has been rewritten to be easier for our users to understand what information we collect and why we collect it, but also to comply with the requirements of the GDPR, a new European privacy regulation which goes live on May 25th. Nothing is changing in the way we collect, use or process our user’s data.
Does this refresh apply to me and/or my organization?
This refresh applies to all users of the Hootsuite platform who are subject to Hootsuite’s online terms of service. If you are an Enterprise customer and you are not sure how this change applies to your organization, please check your Authorization Form, or reach out to your Customer Success representative.
Do I need to do anything because of this change?
No, the changes automatically apply to you. Please review them so as to make sure that you understand them.
What are some of the key changes?
the language has been simplified and terms shortened. Our new Privacy Notice also makes it easier for our users to understand what information we collect and why we collect it.
: We took stock, listened to our customers and have adapted our terms so as to address common questions. For example, our Enterprise Terms now include a security schedule which sets out our security commitments to our Enterprise Customers.
