Jeanette Gibson, former Cisco Executive, Joins HootSuite as Vice President of Community
VANCOUVER, BC – September 24, 2013 - Today, HootSuite, the world’s most popular social relationship management platform, named Jeanette Gibson as Vice President of Community. Gibson, a digital marketing executive and social media leader who excels in social media strategy and campaign execution, will lead the company’s Community team and drive strategy and global outreach for the rapidly growing communities of HootSuite’s Free, Pro and Enterprise users.
Gibson brings a wide range of enterprise innovation and social experience to HootSuite. In her most recent role, Gibson was the Senior Director of Social and Digital Marketing at Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking and IT, where she led a team of 50 digital marketers and social innovators across digital content and site strategy, community development, social platform and innovation, customer listening, and measurement and analytics.
Gibson pioneered Cisco’s social media presence in 2005, which today has over eight million fans and followers. She introduced several enterprise innovations for Cisco including launching a Global Social Media Listening Center that delivered a 280% ROI by enabling support and sales teams to interact directly with customers via Twitter, and implementing a social selling program that acts as a revenue-generating pipeline for Cisco. Gibson also oversaw Cisco’s communities program, which generates $200M per year in savings from customer support case deflection. Gibson is a recognized thought leader in social business, both as a social media industry speaker and as a consultant for Cisco’s Fortune 500 customers.

Gibson is replacing Dave Olson, who is currently on medical leave and will return to a role driving our international growth.
