Reports by Product Area automatically scopes your My Reports view to Perch, Nest, or Parliament based on where you enter Analytics, so you find the right report faster.

Details

Hootsuite Analytics now recognizes which Suite product you're coming from. Reports by Product Area adds a filter to My Reports that shows you the reports tied to Perch, Nest, or Parliament first when you arrive from one of those products, while the global Analytics nav continues to show everything you have access to.

Before this update, opening My Reports from any Suite product showed you every report you had access to, whether or not it applied to what you were working on. This made it harder to find the report you needed, especially if you use more than one Hootsuite product. Now your view defaults to the product area you're working in, cutting down on manual filtering, and you can always widen or narrow that view yourself.

How it Works

Using Reports by Product Area takes no setup: it's automatic based on how you arrive. The filter's default scope is simply determined by your entry point into My Reports.

Enter from a Suite product: Open My Reports from Perch, Nest, or Parliament and see that product's reports pre-selected for you.
Enter from the global nav: Open My Reports from the global Analytics button and see everything you have access to, with no filter applied.
Adjust the filter: Switch the product area from the toolbar dropdown anytime you want a different view.
Keep your selection: Return to My Reports later and find your last selection still in place, unless you arrive again through a product-specific link.

Reports by Product Area match what you see to where you're working, helping you spend less time hunting for the right report and more time acting on it.
